CMS ACCEPTANCE POLICY
Companies interested in the proper collection of empty containers for reconditioning or recycling of used plastic and steel containers.
Reconditioning – reuse units and conserve natural resources
Recycling – empty units that can no longer be reconditioned
- Review CMS Acceptance Policy
- Create an account or login
- Review your units inquiry with Client Service and/or an Account Manager
COMPLETE SDS APPROVAL PROCESS
Submit Safety Data Sheet by completing information on website, including:
- Pictures of container(s) and SDS for materials once contained
- Container Type and Quantity
WHO: Environmental, Regulatory, and Safety (ERS) Manager
- Review SDS submission
Automated e-mail will be sent whether materials are approved or rejected
CONTAINER COLLECTION AGREEMENT
Upon SDS submission, New Customer must review and sign Container Collection Agreement
IF MATERIAL IS APPROVED, New Customer must complete Credit Application, Vendor Form and W-9
Automated e-mail will be sent to notify Customer, local Account Manager for pricing quote and Client Services to schedule pick up for existing account
WHO: ACCOUNT MANAGER
- Provide program quote to customer when quantity is more than 50 drums and or 10 IBCs
PICK UP OR DROP OFF SCHEDULED
WHO: CLIENT SERVICE
Empty pick-up can be scheduled with Client Services at 1-800-272-6202 or via online once account is setup and meets the minimum quantity as stated on the Acceptance Policy.
Containers can be dropped
off at respective CMS facilities by making an appointment via our online scheduler. Please note for Oregon facilities:
St. Helens for steel drums
Marx for poly drums, IBCs, and plastic
POLICY ADHERENCE ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Customer Representative signs CMS Empty Container Receiving Record certifying compliance with the CMS Container Acceptance Policy.
FACILITY RECEIVES – CONTAINERS INSPECTED
Facility inspects containers for final approval or rejection based on CMS Acceptance Policy
